Motivation

Over the past few decades the narrative about Latin America has shifted from colors and hope to poverty and authoritarianism.

This reality destroys families, dreams and entire generations, robbing them of their ability to dream.

At the same time, the web3 industry and blockchain technology emerge as tools to liberate, empower and build income for civil society. However, the lack of content in Portuguese and Spanish (not only in the formal version, but in a language accessible to people from poor backgrounds) has built a wall that prevents such people from accessing these tools.

Community, innovation and creativity are some of the scarcest resources on earth and they are all abundant in Latin America. From this combination of needs and available resources originated the idea of building a course on blockchain in a public school in a poor neighborhood in the city of Serra-ES, Brazil.

Our initial course went well — check out our Roadmap for details —, which brings us to the question:

Why create a DAO?

The course’s success depends on the following:

That’s why we’re creating a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) where teachers can provide education about blockchain and the web3 earn for it — a concept we call Teach2Earn.

We intend to expand this program to different regions in Brazil and Latin America, which requires us to reach teachers with a bonding to these students. That requires us to become a network of cooperation, an ecosystem of education and shelter.

The DAO institutional model provides the ideal infrastructure to reach this objective with low cost and high transparency, while empowering all community members to have a say in the DAO’s future through a decentralized governance system.

O modelo institucional da DAO provê a infraestrutura ideal para fazer isso com custo baixo, de forma transparente e empoderando todos na comunidade a participarem das decisões sobre o futuro da DAO por meio de um sistema de governança.

Sustainability

We believe sustainability (institutional and financial) will be the biggest challenge for DAOs in the coming months, which led us to the following approaches:
